Law Number 18 of 2008 concerning Waste Management defines waste in Article 1, paragraph (1) as the byproducts of human activities and/or natural processes in solid form. The challenge of waste management has grown increasingly complex due to rising population numbers. According to the Ministry of Environment and Forestry data, 40.23% of waste is generated from household activities. This household waste primarily consists of organic materials, such as food scraps, wood, twigs, and leaves. Such waste can be efficiently managed and converted into valuable household resources, including liquid or solid fertilisers, creating potential business opportunities.
This study aims to educate participants through practical waste management training per Law Number 18 of 2008. The training employs an interactive approach that encourages active participation, engagement, and responsiveness to the presented materials. Additionally, practical methods are incorporated to foster a more enjoyable learning environment.
The expected outcomes of this training include: (1) participants understanding household and community-based waste processing, and (2) participants learning how to convert waste into fertilizer.
