Author Guidelines for Prima sakti: Jurnal Pengabdian Masyarakat (JPMP)

Prima sakti: Jurnal Pengabdian Masyarakat (JPMP), published biannually (June and December) by Yayasan Pendidikan Kardin Assidiq, invites lecturers, researchers, and healthcare practitioners to submit articles regarding community service initiatives in health, including Nursing, Midwifery, and Public Health.

To maintain publication quality and adhere to the National Journal Accreditation (ARJUNA) standards, all authors must strictly follow the guidelines detailed below.

1. General Requirements

  • Originality: The manuscript must be an original work, never previously published, and not currently under consideration for publication in any other journal.

  • Scope: The manuscript must align with JPMP’s focus, including Maternal, Neonatal, and Child Health Care; Community and Family Nursing; Clinical Midwifery and Reproductive Health; Geriatric Nursing and Chronic Disease Management; Health Promotion and Clinical Literacy; Mental Health and Psychiatric Nursing in the Community; or Digitalization of Nursing Services and Health Technology.

  • Language: Manuscripts can be written in standard Indonesian or academic English.

  • Plagiarism: All submissions will undergo a similarity check using Turnitin or iThenticate. The maximum acceptable similarity index is 20%.

  • Template: Authors must format their manuscript according to the official JPMP Article Template provided on the journal's website.

2. Manuscript Formatting Specifications

  • File Format: Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx).

  • Length: The manuscript should ideally be between 3,000 to 5,000 words (approximately 6 to 12 pages), excluding references and attachments.

  • Font and Spacing: Times New Roman, 12 pt, with 1.15 or 1.5 line spacing (refer to the specific journal template), printed on A4 paper size with standard margins (e.g., 3 cm on all sides).

3. Manuscript Structure

The manuscript should be structured systematically as follows:

Title

  • Must be concise, informative, and reflect the core of the community service activity.

  • Maximum of 15–20 words.

  • Avoid using non-standard abbreviations.

Author Identity

  • Full names of all authors (without academic titles).

  • Institutional affiliations (Department, Faculty, University/Institution, City, Country).

  • Email address of the corresponding author.

Abstract and Keywords

  • Abstract: Written in both English and Indonesian (if the main text is in Indonesian). It must be a single paragraph of 150–250 words. It should briefly cover the situation analysis/background, objectives of the activity, methods/implementation framework, results/impact, and conclusion.

  • Keywords: 3 to 5 specific terms or phrases, separated by semicolons (;), arranged alphabetically.

1. Introduction

  • Describe the background of the community service, including the situation analysis of the partner community.

  • Clearly state the real-world health challenges or problems faced by the community.

  • Provide justification for the chosen intervention based on relevant literature.

  • End this section with the specific objectives of the community service initiative.

2. Methods

  • Explain the framework or approach used to solve the community's problem.

  • Detail the target audience (participants), location, and time of the activity.

  • Describe the stages of implementation (e.g., preparation, execution, evaluation).

  • Explain the evaluation instruments or metrics used to measure the success of the intervention (e.g., pre-test/post-test questionnaires, health screenings, observation checklists).

3. Results and Discussion

  • Results: Present the outcomes of the community service clearly. You may use tables, graphs, or documentation photos (maximum 3-4 images) that highlight the core activities and results.

  • Discussion: Analyze the results and impact of the activity on community health and welfare. Compare the outcomes with previous similar studies or existing theoretical frameworks. Emphasize how the intervention solved the initial problem.

4. Conclusion

  • Provide a concise summary answering the objectives of the activity.

  • Highlight the concrete impact on the community.

  • Offer recommendations for future community service initiatives, continuous healthcare practices, or policy implications. (Do not use bullet points; write in paragraph form).

5. Acknowledgments (Optional but Recommended)

  • Acknowledge any institutions, funding agencies, or local community leaders who significantly contributed to the success of the program. Include grant or contract numbers if applicable.

6. References

  • Style: Follow the APA (American Psychological Association) 7th Edition style.

  • Reference Manager: Authors are strongly required to use reference management software such as Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote.

  • Quantity and Quality: A minimum of 15 references is expected. At least 80% of the references should be primary literature (journal articles) published within the last 10 years.

4. Tables and Figures

  • Tables: Must be editable (not image formats), numbered sequentially, and have a descriptive title above the table. Only use horizontal lines (no vertical lines) for table borders.

  • Figures: Must be of high quality/resolution (minimum 300 dpi). Titles should be placed below the figures. Ensure any text within figures is legible.

5. Submission Preparation Checklist

Before submitting via the Open Journal Systems (OJS), authors must ensure:

  1. The submission has not been previously published.

  2. The manuscript file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.

  3. Where available, URLs or DOIs for the references have been provided.

  4. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in these Author Guidelines.

  5. Ethical clearance details (if applicable to the community service involving human subjects) are mentioned in the Methods section.
